Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)

This worldwide organization collaborates with the world’s leading consumer goods companies, across borders and barriers to help ensure safe food for people everywhere.

Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP)

BAP is the only aquaculture certification program in the world that certifies every step of the production chain. Their combined efforts help ensure safe and ethical sourcing in abundant supply for future generations.

Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)

MSC is an international nonprofit on a mission to end overfishing and ensure seafood is fished sustainably to support healthy oceans, lakes, and rivers, protect food security, and preserve livelihoods.

Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)

ASC recognizes and rewards responsible aquaculture through the ASC aquaculture certification program and seafood label. It promotes best environmental and social choice when buying seafood and contributes to transforming seafood markets towards sustainability.

Partnerships

Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP)

SFP brings industry, NGOs, governments, fishers, scientists, and academics to the table together. They then offer tools and expertise to help them jointly find solutions that benefit nature, industry, and people.

Seafood Task Force (STF)

STF is the only global trade association where the world’s largest retailers, seafood brands, and their seafood partners are working together to drive supply chain oversight and continuous improvement from vessel to plate.

Issara Institute

This independent NGO operates on the ground in global supply chains to build worker- and community-validated ethical supply chains from the bottom up.

National Fisheries Institute (NFI)

From healthy eating and sustainable fishing to responsible aquaculture and a marketplace supporting trade, the NFI and its members work to ensure the media, consumers, and policy makers have the facts about seafood.

Better Seafood Board (BSB)

The BSB works with aligned groups in the seafood value chain to ensure buyers recognize that NFI members are seafood providers that have taken extra steps to ensure their products are properly labeled for weights and counts, country of origin, and species.

Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST)

The GDST is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to creating and sharing a common language for traceability in the seafood supply chain, using data that is both reliable and affordable.

Stronger America Through Seafood

This organization brings a diverse board of directors from various backgrounds. With their support, they create the momentum and voice to influence U.S. policymakers to enact legislation establishing a workable regulatory framework for all U.S. aquaculture production.
